How we work

We embed with your team, learn how you work, and start shipping.

A DataThink engagement is designed to become part of your team, not operate outside it. We build a team around the work you need done, work from your priorities each month, and adjust as those priorities change.

The right team for the job

We start with what you're trying to accomplish, then assemble the expertise you need. A team might pair a biostatistician with a front-end developer, or bring together designers, developers, and data scientists.

Everyone has worked together before joining your organization, so your team is built to collaborate from day one.

The flexibility to get it done

You have a monthly budget for your DataThink team, just like you would for employees. Within that budget, we work on whatever needs to get done.

When priorities change, the work can change with them. There's no need to rewrite a statement of work or start a new project every time something shifts.

The first month starts with listening

You don't need to have everything organized before we start. We bring the structure and learn what we need by becoming part of your organization.

Week One

We sit in on standups, read the codebase, learn your systems, review your data, and listen to how your team works.

Week Two

We start doing real work. It may be small or unglamorous at first, but it helps us learn your systems while contributing immediately.

Month End

We've shipped something together. We understand your architecture, your priorities, and what needs to happen next.

The goal is simple: by the end of the first month, we're not outsiders trying to understand your team. We're working as part of it.

A team that already knows how to work together

Our team isn't a collection of freelancers

Every person on a DataThink team has worked with the rest of the team before joining your project. They know how to communicate, challenge each other's ideas, and respond to changing requests.

That means you're not spending the first few months figuring out how a newly assembled team works together.

Design. Development. Data science. Biostatistics. One team, working toward the same outcome.

Meet our team

We bill for the hours the team works each month.

If the month is lighter, the invoice is lighter. If priorities change, the team can shift with them without requiring a new scope or change order.

Because a team can include people at different experience levels, we use senior expertise where senior expertise is needed rather than applying one rate to everyone.

Where we fit best

DataThink wants to build with you and your team. We love big problems that need improved solutions or visionary ideas that need a technical team to bring them to reality.

We help companies increase bandwidth, fill expertise gaps, and plan implementations.

We're generally partners for years, not months.
